It's also worth marveling at the fact that, once upon a time, Valve released three brand new games all on the same day. Portal 2 is still every bit as wonderful as the day it came out, and Half-Life 2 remains one of the great shooters of all time. Still, now might be a good time to go fire up one of these games and marvel at just how well they stand the test of time. While it's still disappointing, it's no surprise that there's no new Portal or Half-Life announcement. What a thing it would be to play vanilla TF2 again. It's nigh unrecognizable now, which I still think is a shame, but it's made Valve (and digital milliners) a lot of money. Games like Overwatch owe much of their design and success to Valve's classic shooter (which was based off of the original Team Fortress, a Quake mod.) I used to play the game a lot when I was younger, but that was back before it became what it is today, in the Pre-Hat Era. Team Fortress 2 is the godfather of hero shooters. Team Fortress 2 is getting a big update-imminently.
